America: An Integrated Curriculum, Year 1, Parts I, II, and III are now available as digital downloads from TeachersPayTeachers; click on the link for Part I:  "Land of the Pilgrims' Pride." The Introduction is free on TpT.  Also, as an introductory offer on TpT, the Weeks 1-2 section is $1.50 (regular price for each 2-3 week section is $3.50), the Appendix is FREE (regular price is $1.00); then purchase the remainining 2-3 week sections for $2.00 each and the Answer Key for $.50.  The introductory offer provides a 50% discount for the first 11-week study --  just $10.00.  If you want each of your students to have a copy, click on "Add Multiple License" when purchasing -- and get additional copies for 50% off of the original low price!
The workbook for "Land of the Pilgrims' Pride" is now also available from TpT.
The cost is $1.00 for each 2-3 week section.  If you want more than one copy, just click on "Add Multiple License" when purchasing -- and get additional copies for 50% off of the original price!

Click on the links for Part II and Part III of the first year of America: "From Every Mountainside" and "Let Freedom Ring."  The cost for each of these 11-week studies is $20.00.  So, with the discount on the first 11-week study, parents/teachers are able to purchase this one-year curriculum for $50.00 -- and CNS offers 10% sale days several times during the year, so at times it is possible to purchase it for $45.00!
Note:  Now that all three parts of Year 1 are available on TpT, they are no longer available from CNS.  Some books that are used in Year 1 are still available from CNS; see the list below (the titles that are preceded by a red star
* are no longer available from CNS).
The fourth and fifth parts of America (the first two 11-week studies of Year 2) are now available on TpT; the sixth part will be available by 8/31/15:
"May God Thy Gold Refine"
"'Til All Success Be Nobleness"
Note:  The three parts of Year 2 are no longer available from CNS.  Some books that are used in Year 2 are still available from CNS; see the list below (the titles that are preceded by a red star * are no longer available from CNS).
Kids' Guide to American History, Tracy M. Sumner; this book is $5.99 for people who purchase America from CNS & $9.99 for people who do not.
A note about this book that has just been published in 2012:  I was looking for a book like this when I was planning to write the second year of America.  It is written from a Christian perspective -- and it is a very readable book for 8-12 year old students; the book also contains pictures.  There are 10 chapters; the first four chapters deal with American history that is covered in the first year of America -- and the final six chapters deal with history covered in the second year of America and to the present.  Since there is a short bit of information on each topic, the material can be added to a day (in the first year of America) when there is no scheduled reading from the Peter Marshall/David Manuel books.  Then in the second year, the material can be read when the topic is studied.  It is an excellent book -- and I highly recommend using it with the America program.  Click on the link to see a picture and read a review from Amazon:
Kids' Guide to American History

Notes for America users:  Most of the reading books and the magazine should be available in public libraries or through an interlibrary loan.  I suggest that you purchase the Marshall/Manuel children's books (Year 1) and Great Stories in American History (Year 2) because you will use each of them for many weeks.
As you scan the book list, you will see that at times students in all  reading levels are reading the same books; at other times they are reading different books.
Some of the books are out of print and are available only to America purchasers.  E-mail or call CNS before placing an order to check on availability.

After America users complete the program, many ask which world history program CNS recommends.  At this time, the program we encourage America users to check out is one that was written by Diana Waring:  History Revealed

CNS has received numerous requests for individual guides for books used in the America program, so mini-guides (2-week studies) have been created for many of the titles.  Please note that if you purchase the America curriculum, you do not need to purchase mini-guides for any of the titles that are used in America -- all of the material that is in a mini-guide is found in the America curriculum.
As you scroll through the book list, you will see that many books have links; a guide is available for each book for which a link is provided.

Another item people often request from the America curriculum is the extended reading list.  The list (plus more resources) is now available as a Basic Booklet:
A Treasure Chest of American History Resources.
